“artless Inc.” is an interdisciplinary design company, operating in a global marketplace from Tokyo Japan. Established in 2000, by Shun Kawakami. Our studio in Tokyo and branch/partners in Kyoto, New York, London, Paris, Firenze, Helsinki and Taipei. Our activities are in the visual communication and language of design. Brand Strategy, Visual Identity and Corporate Identity, Advertising, Web, Packaging, Video, Product, Interactive Installation, Projection Mapping, Show Window, Architecture and Sign Design…
We pride itself on creating value enhancement for its clients through creative solutions, an intuitive entrepreneurial extension of design and craft credentials. We made up of a creative team in accordance with each project. Our collective brings a global new perspective to all projects from our global network, includes creative director, art director, film director, graphic designer, interactive designer, product designer, photographer, stylist, make-up artist, musician, painter, calligrapher, flower artist and architect.
We are thinking “Design as a Visual Language”, and we play in the realm “between art and design”. We manifest a diverse practice across the fields of design and others. Different experiences give us a broader point of view.

“artless Inc.”は、東京を基軸にしながら世界8都市を拠点にグローバルに活動するインターディシプリナリーデザインカンパニーです。「デザインとアート」を横断的に考え、様々な領域の専門知識や経験を持つスペシャリストやアーティストと協力し合い、洗練されたアートディレクションとデザインによるクオリティを重視した作品を生み出しています。活動領域は、ブランドデザインを中心に、ロゴ／V.I.、コーポレート・アイデンティティ、広告キャンペーン、グラフィックデザイン、ウェブ、映像、インスタレーション、ショーウィンドウやディスプレイデザイン、そして、建築やサイン計画など多岐に至ります。そのジャンルに縛られない横断的な活動は、ADC Young Guns, NY ADC、D&AD、カンヌ国際広告祭、One show、Tokyo TDC、グッドデザイン賞等、国内外で評価を受けています。
“artless Inc.”のグローバルコレクティブは、クリエイティブ／アート／デザイン／フィルム等のディレクター。グラフィック／インタラクティブ／インテリア／プロダクト等のデザイナー。ウェブやインスタレーション等のインタラクティブ・デザインを行うためのプログラマー。そして、フォトグラファー、スタイリスト、メイク。建築家や音楽家、書家、華道家等のアーティストまで、ジャンルやカテゴリーを跨ぐ豊富なネットワークを築いています。各プロジェクトに応じ最適なチームをキュレーションし、様々なアートディレクション及びデザインを行います。また、日本だけでなく、ニューヨーク、ロンドン、パリ、ミラノ、フィレンツェ、ベルリン、ヘルシンキ、シンガポール、台北、上海など国内外で広く活動し、クライアントワークのみならず、エキシビションの主催や参加及びキュレーション、各メディアへのアートワークの出品といったアート活動も精力的に行っています。
“artless Inc.”は 多様化する現代において、「ビジネスとデザイン」、そして、「デザインとアート」の融合を考え、探求し続けています。また、デザインを「ビジュアルランゲージ」と捉え、デザインを通じて思考や理念といった「目に見えないもの」を表現する「ヴィジュアルコミュニケーション」という姿勢を軸に活動しています。
