Born 1977 in Tokyo. Establishes his own design firm, artless Inc., in 1999. His vision, unconstrained by genres and categories, is embodied through a broad range of activities, from graphic design, art direction, and branding to interactive art, video, installation, and space design. As an artist, participates in various exhibitions and projects in Japan and aboard, curates exhibitions, and contributes art to various media outlets. Receives numerous awards, including NYADC Award, One Show, Good Design Award, and Tokyo Interactive Ad Award.
Working for clients, designer Shun works on a lot of personal art projects employing traditional Japanese culture/style but from a non-Japanese standpoint. Since his art doesn’t have concepts or strong messages, he lets viewers to determine what they are. He sees art as a platform to refine and enrich himself, which he believes is the most crucial thing upon his creation.
